Aye Myanmar Association seeks to build a Myanmar where all sex workers live in an environment of respect, equality, social justice, inclusion and dignity.
AMA wishes for a society where there is no stigma and discrimination based on class, gender and/or occupation. Everyone should be able to live a full and happy life out loud, and proud.
The AMA mission is to improve the process of social and political change with an objective to establish, promote and strengthen the rights, dignity, social status and quality of life of all sex workers’ communities.
Stigma and discrimination comes from a place of fear. It is fear and misunderstanding that creates barriers and divisions among people. It is also this fear and taboo associated with sex that leads to seeing sex work as illegitimate.
Recognizing the source of this fear and tackling them is what AMA is established to do. Sex workers are entitled to the same rights as anyone else.
